Here it is, August already! The birthstone for August is the Peridot (stands for love, truth, faithfulness and loyalty-thus, the green frames) and the flower is the Gladiolus (meaning sincerity and symbolizes strength of character). Don't forget the Meteor shower this week. 11th, 12th, 13th. My daughter and I are going up to the observatory on Friday nite. We go early enough to watch their movie first! Hope it's visible from where you are. Take our heavy blankets and lay out on the grass at the observitory and listen to the younger kids oohhhh and aahhh. Lots of fun.
